Description: |
IRICO Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) is a commuter train which has the capability to
be coupled up to 3 trainsets (12 cars) together having maximum capacity of 1008
seated passengers with the minimum crew needed during operation. The basic train
configuration for revenue service is a 4-car train composed of = M c-T-T- M c =
with maximum operating speed of 120 km/h.
M c car is equipped with one traction diesel engine and transmission set, one engine generator set,
passenger room, air brake system with air compressor, driver’s cab and one
double sliding plug type passenger entrance door on each side.
T car is equipped with one engine generator set, air brake system, one water cooler, one oriental
toilet, passenger room and one double sliding plug type passenger entrance door
on each side. At the moment, this product is being used in several suburban
lines of Iran. The technology of IRICO DMU has been transferred from Hyundai
Rotem Company.
This product could be customized based on customer requirements in cooperation
with our European partners. Increasing speed of the train from 120 km/h to 160
km/h and modification from DMU to EMU has been already considered in improvement
plans.
